Reverse Mentoring Programme 2009
“In order to treat people fairly, sometimes you have to treat them differently.”
The One and All Foundation launched a mentoring programme on the 16th of July which will run for the rest of 2009. Our Mentors, Mentees, and Trustees came along to Yo Sushi’s training academy to meet each other and find out more about the Foundation:
The aim of the programme is to engage with talented people from diverse backgrounds who are currently working in hospitality and are interested in establishing a career in the industry. Through mentoring we hope to assist them to learn more about themselves and the skills, experience and mindset needed to get ahead and carve out a career and at the same time, learn more about what it is like to be from a minority group.
How does it work?
We have a panel of Mentors who have volunteered to take part in the initiative who will meet on a monthly basis with their Mentees to discuss their career, their personal goals and ways to approach work and life.
In reverse - over time, the Mentors will learn from the Mentees what it is like to be from a certain minority group.
In House Mentoring
Do you like the idea of reverse mentoring, but didn’t get involved in time? Talk to us about facilitating a reverse mentoring programme in house.
